Bio

Dear colleagues Village hosts,

I am coming from a rural household in the north of Serbia, which is well-known for its rich traditional Austro-Hungarian cuisine. Our mission is to preserve traditional family values, collect old recipes for savoury dishes and delicacies, and present them to visitors to our rural household through presentations, workshops, and summer schools.

Apart from preparing such dishes for our guests, we also organize creative workshops for children and their parents, providing them with an opportunity to make traditional dishes and learn about the importance of preparing meals at home. They also have a chance to make homemade juices and create at least a few jars of their favourite pickles. In addition, they can learn how to decorate jars and bottles in the way our grandmothers and great-grandmothers used to do.

For each new dish that we prepare for our guests, we tell the story of its origin, when and why it was prepared, how it was served, and its symbolic significance in the tradition of our people.

One of our project ideas is to expand the collection of recipes and cookbooks and create a small thematic library that could one day become a museum.
